Representative Hans Zeiger is serving his third term in the Washington House of Representatives. A champion for students and an advocate for youth civic engagement, Zeiger was the 2012 Washington Student Association Legislator of the Year. Representative Zeiger holds appointments on the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee, the Puget Sound Regional Council Transportation Policy Board, the Washington State Institute for Public Policy Board, and the William Ruckelshaus Center Board. Outside of the Legislature Zeiger leads the Chapman Center for Civic Leadership at the Seattle-based Discovery Institute, and he is a Second Lieutenant in the Washington Air National Guard. A contributing writer for Philanthropy Daily, he is the author of two books about young Americans and has taught a class on state and local government at Seattle Pacific University. Representative Zeiger was the Republican recipient of the inaugural Gabrielle Giffords Award for Civility in State Governance awarded by The National Institute for Civil Discourse in August 2015.
