Representative Kim Norton was first elected to the Minnesota House of Representative in 2006. She currently serves as the DFL lead on Greater Minnesota Economic and Workforce Development Policy, the House Higher Education Policy, as well as Transportation Policy. Norton is the co-chair of the bipartisan Childhood Obesity Task force and has been active in a number of bipartisan caucuses since being elected. She has carried significant bi-partisan legislation, which has become law and served as both assistant minority and majority leader. Prior to working in the legislature, Norton served on the Rochester School Board from 1999-2006. Representative Norton has been a Rochester resident or 25 years and raised all five of her children in the community.
