Representative Matt Pouliot serves on the Legislature's Education and Cultural Affairs Committee where he has taken a keen interest in passing measures to advance financial literacy in Maine's high school curriculum. He has also passed many pieces of legislation to address the growing student debt problem that is significantly impacting his generation nationwide. In, 2013, Pouliot was appointed by the Governor of the State of Maine to serve on the Maine Economic Growth Council and was also appointed by the Speaker of the House to serve on the Commission to Improve College Affordability and Completion. Matt is also a member of the National Council of State Legislatures Education Standing Committee and the co-chair of the Maine Youth Caucus, a bi-partisan group of legislators under the age of 30 in Maine. He married the former Heather Marie Veilleux on August 17, 2013 and resides in Augusta.
Represenative Pouliot served as a co-chair for the National Network of State Legislators Committed to Civil Governance in 2016.
