NICD partners with Leadership Ohio for 30th anniversary celebrations

By March 31, 2022No Comments
This year marks Leadership Ohio’s (LO) 30th anniversary, a milestone in our storied history. This anniversary creates an opportunity to reflect on how the organization has evolved, and how we might shape the next 30 years of the impact made by Ohio leaders. At the core of our celebration is our commitment to alumni of the program, and we hope to bring together the entire LO community as we celebrate across our great state. LO is delighted to announce a 30th anniversary campaign featuring dynamic programming and highlights throughout 2022.
The National Institute on Civil Discourse and Leadership Ohio Announce Anniversary Year Partnership
In many of our communities, the differences and divisions in our society have been inescapable these last years. Join NICD and LO as we grapple with issues related to civil discourse, and ask ourselves: Are we coming apart, or is this a new beginning of coming together? NICD events are national and virtual with dates/details to come.
  1. Social Media, Misinformation and Democracy
NICD will facilitate an engaging roundtable discussion about the relationship of social media, misinformation, and civil discourse in democracy. How should we think about social media and its outsized role in our democratic life?
  2. Love Your Enemies – A Democracy Book Club Event
This summer we’re reading Love Your Enemies by Arthur C. Brooks. The book, both a prediction of the future and an appeal to America’s better angels, reveals how each of us can be a force for unity– in our families, in our communities, and in a country desperate to free itself from the culture of contempt.
