Matt Motyl is an assistant professor studying political psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and on the board of directors for He studies what makes it so difficult for people with different moral and political values to communicate with each other without fighting over their differences. As a founding member of the board of directors of, he examines interventions that may improve communication between people with different beliefs and values.
