Representative JoAnn Ward

Minnesota Representative

Representative JoAnn Ward is currently serving her second term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Prior to moving to Minnesota in 1974, Representative Ward taught as a high school teacher in Seattle, Washington. An active community volunteer, she leads two successful bond issues, rallying 1,000 volunteers to support the construction of much-needed school facilities. Representative Ward has held leadership roles in university, public schools, church, and several neighborhood organizations. In 1994 Representative Ward completed a Master of Arts in Education with a focus on Learning and Human Development Technology -- Human Resource Development. She has extensive training and experience in collaborative decision-making and conflict management, specifically Baldridge Performance Excellence and Restorative Justice. Representative Ward and her husband, Joe have three grown children and five Minnesotan grandchildren.
