Mr. Ronald R. Rose was elected to the University of San Francisco Board of Trustees in June 2010. He is completing his final year of service at the University. In the commercial real estate business, Mr. Rose manages his own real estate portfolio and partners with MCB Real Estate located in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, he is a founding partner of Lendistry, formerly known as Money Merchant Company; a business to business, community investor and SBA lender mixing tradition banking tools with web based assistance located in La Habra, Ca. Prior to his current professional interests, he has had a 30-year career in commercial real estate with Metropolitan Life, the Federal Home Loan Bank, John Hancock Real Estate Financial Services and LoopNet, Inc.
In addition to being a trustee at the University of San Francisco, Mr. Rose has served on the USF San Francisco Regional Council, the Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service and the Common Good and is former chair of the IT Committee, member of Executive Committee and currently the chair of the Dean's Circle at the School of Management. At the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Mr. Rose is a former chair of the Board of Visitors for the department of political science and the La Follett School of Public Policy. Additionally, The Rose Trust provides four undergraduate scholarships evenly distributed to students in the political science program and the writing workshop program at Wisconsin. Mr. Rose plans to join the Board at the National Institute of Civil Discourse in the Fall of 2018, an organization affiliated with the University of Arizona's Government Department. Independent of his educational interests, he has co-produced new works with the Magic Theater in San Francisco and remains an angel investor in several medical start-ups.
He holds an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, a master's degree in government from the University of Arizona, a master's degree in city planning from San Diego State University and a master's degree in business from the University of San Francisco. Mr. Rose lives in San Francisco with his wife, Karen, and they have one son and twin grandsons.
